DELUGE: is a video at the limits of the sculpture and assembly. A succession of shots framed on zoological spaces film each time a new decoration emptied of all animal life. The disappointment is evacuated by the presence of an artificial rain that drops continuously on the lens. The idea of zoological nature is then replaced by a special effect, suggesting a deluge and questioning the artificiality of our entertainment spaces. The title DELUGE is directly inspired by a Felix E.Feist’s movie (1933).
A polymorphic artist, Rémi Groussin does not easily allow himself to be locked down. More willingly oriented towards the off-sreen space, he likes to allow his artworks to exist in unexpected places. He combines disciplines. You could say that his sculptures have something cinematographic about them, that his videos have a plastic quality, and his installations or performances convey a story. in this formal shifts, it is possible to detect the incessant movement of an artistic practice that is open to encounters and de-compartmentalising. Indiscipline and intermingling govern the work place of this child of his time.
