Fifty Shades of Grace
36x48 inches
collage, oil pastel, acrylic paint, gouache, marker, spray paint, pencil crayons, ink, graphite on gallery stretched canvas
My mixed media collage paintings are a kind of Jungian jumble, or jungle, really, filled with personal symbolism as well as referencing the vast universe of cultural fingerprints and narratives from literature and words to science to television to religion to music to art history. They are finalized by the interpretation of the onlooker. They are like axe hackings, or tree rings, like cross sections of my mind, and thus by extension, of the archetypal imagination or collective of un/consciousness.
