Lauren Bibeau is a Montreal-based artist who studied Fine Arts at Concordia Univeristy as well as at Dawson College. In the last decade she has paticipated in many exhibitions and charitible art auctions. The inspiration for her most recent collection cumulonimbus is fueled by Quebec's magestic landscapes and sky scapes. This group of work was conceived with the help of hundreds of skyscape photographs. The materials and process in which she creates her works are very important. Pine panels along with pigment and linseed oil are used to create abstracted cloud formations. The wood grain in the panels are visible through the medium, which ties the natural aspects of her inspiration back into the work, allowing it to be light and provoking.
